InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has appointed Robert “Bob” Morse to senior vice president and chief operating officer for the Americas region, succeeding Angela Brav who is now president of IHG’s Europe region. In his new role, Morse will be based in Atlanta and will lead the operations activities for franchised and managed hotels across all IHG brands in the Americas region. Morse joins IHG this month from Noble Investment Group, a lodging and hospitality investment organization he has been with for seven years, most recently as managing principal and chief operating officer. Prior to joining Noble, Morse was the chief operating officer for Interstate Hotels & Resorts. The two companies merged in October 2011.
Sage Hospitality, based in Denver, has hired Jennifer Long to serve as director of interactive marketing and promoted Katherine Davis to the role of public relations and social media manager. Long joins Sage from Millennium Hotels and Resorts where she has been the director of e-commerce since 2008. She previously spent 13 years at Destination Hotels & Resorts in Englewood, CO, most recently serving as assistant vice president of e-commerce. Davis joined Sage 18 months ago as the social media manager. She previously served as traffic coordinator at MMI Public Relations and as an executive sales assistant at Gephart Marketing Solutions, both in North Carolina.
The Society for Collegiate Travel & Expense Management (SCT&EM) has introduced Sarah Moon and Jennifer Hulsey as new collegiate members, and Joe DeMille as a new supplier member of its executive board. Moon is the travel manager at Boston University where she has built a travel program from the ground up. Hulsey is director of procurement, communications and travel services at Emory University, where she has successfully built and then mandated the travel program. Prior to Emory, she was an account manager for Delta Air Lines for 16 years. DeMille is senior director of business development for Dolce Hotels and Resorts. Over the past few years, he has been instrumental in web site development, membership growth, sponsorship, and development of strategic partnerships for SCTEM.
